ABDB, IKLS DRAW 1-1

Bandar Seri Begawan - IKLS and MS ABDB fought to a 1-1 draw in the fifth round of DST Brunei National Football League. Mohd Fakhri bin Ismail gave IKLS a strike in the 7th minute to give a shock to the Group C league leaders.

IKLS continued to press their opponents. However, a 38th minute goal from MS ABDB's Mohammed Khairuddin bin Abd Kadir cancelled out all their hard work.
In the second half, MS ABDB put tremendous pressure on the IKLS in search of the lead. With only three men at the back, MS ABDB bombarded the IKLS goal with non-stop attacks on both flanks.
Mohamed Amir Ajmal bin Mohamed Tahir and Mohammad Haizul gave IKLS a dreadful time with their well-timed crosses into the box and penetrating passes but IKLS keeper Norsahrul bin Hj Ibrahim was equal to the task.

IKLS were unfazed by their opponents' constant attacks and sent another striker, Md Sapri bin Hj Mohd Salleh, to look for another goal. However, in the 66th minute, a red card for Mohd Iswandi bin Abd Kadir for a second bookable offence forced IKLS to change to a defensive strategy
With the numerical advantage, MS ABDB enjoyed large spells of possession and play They pressed on and could have taken the lead had Budiman bin Jumat's freekick just outside the IKLS penalty area not sailed over the cross bar.

The IKLS defence would have been shred to pieces if not for the collective work of all members of the team, who rallied by their captain, Mohd Ariffin bin Haji Sulaiman and their hard working midfielder, Mohd Taufigillah bin Abd Hamid.

Hj Mohd Ali Rahman bin Hj Sulaiman, IKLS head coach, said he was delighted with his team's performance especially after having gone a man down in the second half He said, "Throughout the first half the team showed commitment and discipline so in the second half we sent another striker to win the game. Our team played a counter-attacking style as we continued to press our opponents. However, having lost a player, we had to change our approach. MS ABDB is a tough team and we are happy with the result."
Sergeant Saiful Riza bin Awang, Coach of MS ABDB, said they were not put off with the result. "We attacked a lot in the second half in search of the winning goal but I felt we were just unlucky" he said.
He added that they fielded some new players for this match to give them a chance to play and that they will continue to play and train hard for the next match against Sangsura FC in the sixth round of matches.

In another match, Kilanas FC beat Menglait FC with a 2 -1 score line at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
