RBAF Jubilee Futsal And Triathlon Meets


Bandar Seri Begawan - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces will be organising two sporting events which are open to the public next month in conjunction with the 51st anniversary celebration of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The tournaments are a futsal competition to be held from June 4-20 at the Bridex Hall and a triathlon competition to be held on Friday (June 29) at the Water Sports Centre, Serasa Beach, Muara.

The competitions were announced by the Ministry of Defence.

This will be the second year that RBAF will be opening these two competitions to the public as the feedback from the public was encouraging and the interaction between the military personnel and civilian sportsmen was of very high spirit of sportsmanship.

The futsal competition will be divided into four categories, namely RBAF Teams Open, RBAF Teams Veterans (above 35 years), Public Teams Open and Public Teams Veterans (above 35 years).

Forms can be downloaded from www.mindef.gov.bn or collected and submitted at the Performance Optimisation Centre Building at Bolkiah Garrison.

The triathlon competition will have four different categories to be contested namely - RBAF Open, Individual, RBAF Open Teams, Public Open Individual and Public Open Teams.

The competition will be conducted in the Olympic distance namely 1.5km swim, followed by 40km cycle and completed by 10km run.

All of the events will start at the RBAF Water Sports Centre, followed by cycling towards the Muara-Berakas highway and back to Serasa.

Running stage will be in the vicinity of Kg Serasa Housing and heading towards the Serasa Industrial Area and finish at the Water Sports Centre.
