MOHD Ikhmal Hakim Hj Mohd Yunnos scored a brace as Majra United defeated non-league team Seri Wira FC 4-1 in the Brunei FA Cup at the Belapan Track & Field last night.

It was Seri Wira who scored the first goal of the night but they found themselves a man down after Azman Hj Lamit was shown a red-card in the final minute of first half.

Majra United took full advantage of this by attacking relentlessly which eventually led to their four goals

Former national midfielder Abang Nor Silmy Abang Hj Taha and Shahremy Karim scored the remaining two goals for Majra United.

"It was a good game. Seri Wira FC gave a very good fight tonight. First half was a bit slow, the players were not moving well but they managed to comeback in the second and scored three goals," said Majra United assistant manager Hj Mahadi Hj Md Zain.

"We put midfielder Abang Nor Silmy as a striker in the second half. It changed the flow of the game and Alhamdulilah the strategy paid off.

"Shahremy also performed very well in the game. He scored the equaliser for us and I think he created a lot of chances in the attack tonight," he added.

Poor marking by Majra defenders saw Khairul Huzaiemie Arsat score from outside the penalty box to give Seri Wira FC a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute.

Majra's Shahremy would score in the dying seconds of the first half with a header off the left corner to make it 1-1 heading into the second.

Majra United were the brighter team after play resumed, with Shahremy wrecking havoc both down the middle and on the right flank, where he was able to send in a few dangerous crosses for the strikers.

Mohd Ikhmal Hakim gave Majra the lead in the 52nd minute and they enjoyed a spell of sustained possession after the goal.

Majra United celebrated their third goal in the 74th minute when Mohd Ikhmal Hakim sent the goalkeeper in the wrong direction before calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Abang Nor Silmy added the fourth three minutes later to seal the Majra United's win.

The other match saw MPKS Matan FC scoring a 1-0 win over Sangsura FC.
