SIXTEEN teams have already booked their berth in the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Red Bull Futsal Championship 2012.

According to Hj Hamidon Hj Mohd Zain of the NFABD, the tournament will only resume after the month of Ramadhan and the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, and the draw for the second round of the tournament will be held soon, but the date has yet to be confirmed.

Organised by the NFABD for the first time, a total of 40 teams separated into eight groups were vying for top honours in the tournament, however there are only 16 teams that made it to the second round of the tournament.

Indera SC, Arbisyam FC, Kelab Youth Futsal 2015, Shah United, MS ABDB, Pega Star, Kota Juniors, Rizfiz FT, PHJ FT, Syah Kampong, AH United, Fuzee FT, LLRC Utd, Stone Villa FT, Street United and FC Phosphor are the teams that made it to the second round.

Indera SC and Arbisyam FT qualified as the top two teams from group A. Kelab Youth Futsal 2015, MS ABDB, Kota Juniors, PHJ FT, Ah United, LLRC FT and FC Phosphor all topped the group B, C, D, E, F, G and H respectively.

"It is going to be an interesting second round of the tournament," said FC Phosphor manager Tengku Syed Herdiman Tengku Syed Abdul Rahman.

"In our club history, MS ABDB and Kota Junior were always the most difficult teams to play against. Shah United is one of the top club ranking futsal in the country and they have the experience winning the tournament in the country and overseas. We got to face any of these teams eventually," he added.

LLRC FT's manager Ahmad Sazarin Hj Ahmad Sabli also agreed that Kota Juniors and Shah United are the teams to beat in the competition this year.

"Kota Juniors and Shah United are the team to beat in the tournament. They have been around in futsal for years, they are very established futsal team and they got the experience competing in a lot of tournaments," he said.

"For the time being we are having a break. We will resume training after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. It is a tough competition, and this team were only formed this year. However will try our best to win the tournament," he added.
