QAF FC secure second round FA Cup berth

Sunday, July 1, 2012

MOHD Hadiman Abdul Lamit and Muhammad Hafis Mahari scored a goal each to power QAF FC to a 2-0 win over Brunei Darussalam Sports School in their first round match of the Brunei FA Cup at the Balapan Track and Field in Berakas last night.

Mohd Hadiman scored the opener in the 11th minute and Muhammad Hafis put his name on the scoresheet in the 69th to book QAF FC's berth into the second round.

Having recently qualified for the Brunei Super League, QAF FC are the favourites to progress to the next round of the FA Cup.

Team manager Rahim Hj Daud was full of praise for his young opponents.

"They are very young and have a lot of potential. They should be competing in the national league and that would be good for them," he said.

"It was not our best game. But I am happy that we won and that is what matters. We need to improve on our fitness and improve our ball-passing," he added.

Brunei Darussalam Sports School coach Pg Serfuddin Pg Hj Mohd Salleh was also happy with the performance of his players.

"We lost to an experienced team tonight. We have two 14-year-olds starting in the game and we managed to make it difficult for QAF FC . I am very proud of them," he said.
