THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) shot down IKLS FC 3-1 to qualify for the DST Brunei FA Cup final at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last night.

Mohammad Mazazizi Mazlan gave the armymen an early lead in the 19th minute, a lead which they would never relinquish.

IKLS FC's defenders failed to clear a corner within their box and were made to pay dearly when Mohammad Mazazizi blasted the ball from just outside of the penalty box to beat IKLS FC's goalkeeper Mohammad Ahsanuddin Hj Mohd Dani.

The armymen continued their strong showing throughout the first-half and were rewarded just before the break when Mohammad Khairul Mee Wahit pounced on the rebound following a Ak Mohammad Safri Pg Hj Othman saved shot.

IKLS FC's defence was kept under pressure in the second half.

With the MS ABDB wingers given room to freely fly in crosses from the exposed flanks into IKLS FC penalty area, it was only a matter of time before they scored another goal.

Budiman Jumat made it 3-0 when he calmly slot the ball past the goalkeeper in the 71st minute after latching onto a through ball from the midfield.

Ateraba Norman Hj Abdul Rahman scored from a free-kick eight minutes later to pull one back for IKLS FC.

MS ABDB manager Suhaimi Jamali was pleased with the result, saying that his team deserved to win after dominating the game.

"The advantage is always towards us. We were very confident of beating IKLS FC before the game. We played okay tonight and we controlled the game. It could have been better. There were a lot of chances in the game and we could have scored more goals," said the manager.

"All the three goals came from the left and right flank. The strategy was to get the ball into the penalty area and try to score. They were very defensive in the first half and we are very glad to be able to score goals and win the game."

Asked about their opponent in the final, the manager answered: "We have to wait until tomorrow. But I would pick Indera SC to be in the final."

Indera SC is scheduled to play Royal Brunei Police Forces Sports Council (MS PDB) in their semi-final match tonight at 8pm at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
