QAF striker (orange) tries to send the ball into LLRC territory

Bandar Seri Begawan - QAF FC's search for their first win of the 2012/13 DST Super League came to an end last night after they beat LLRC FT 2-0 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

Striker Muhammad Hafis bin Mahari netted a brilliant opener for QAF FC, latching on to a cross-field pass, before beating his marker and lashing the ball into the back of the net from close range in the 14th minute.
Ak Md Azrul Ariffin had a glorious chance to equalise for LLRC FT when he wriggled his way into the QAF FC penalty box, but his shot cannoned harmlessly off the post and out of play.

Muhammad Hafis bin Mahari should have made it 2-0 to the away side moments later, when Mohd Hadiman bin Abdul Lamit picked out Adie Arsham bin Md Salleh on the left wing, who centred for his partner in crime, only for Muhammad Hafis to head over from six yards out.

LLRC FT spurned another opportunity to level the scores when Md Amirul Jafrey bin Md Norshaney was set through on goal. Junaidi bin Akim came rushing out of his goal, but was rounded easily by Md Amirul Jafrey, who squared the ball for Safuan bin Juhar.

The LLRC FT playmaker, under the pressure of a QAF FC defender, mustered a shot goal-wards, which was cleared off the line by Mushready bin Chuchu.

Substitute Hardi anak Bujang made an almost instantaneous impact after replacing teammate Mohd Hadiman bin Abdul Lamit with a quarter of the game still to play.

Petrus bin Jumat spotted Hardi's run and played a delightful ball over the top from a free-kick on the halfway line. The former DPMM FC man controlled the ball, before lifting it over the LLRC FT goalkeeper to seal the points in the 72nd minute.

The win saw QAF FC climb just a single spot into seventh, with four points after three games, although they do still have two games in hand.

Jerudong FC will be looking to deny MS ABDB top spot in the DST Super League standings when the two sides meet tonight at the Berakas Track and Field Complex. Kick-off is at 9pm.
