Majra United FC edge QAF FC 1-0

MAJRA United FC finished their season on a high note after edging QAF FC 1-0 at the Belapan Track and Field Complex last night.

QAF FC were missing captain Riwandi bin Wahit after the striker picked up his second yellow card of the season in the win over Wijaya, forcing the skipper to sit out the penultimate game of QAF FC’s season.

QAF FC were doing most of the attacking in the opening stages, and did manage to find the back of the net after Petrus bin Jumat had played a clever pass to Muhammad Hafis bin Mahari in the box, who headed over the Majra goalkeeper, but the goal was ruled out after the striker had been caught in an offside position.

A defensive lapse in the 32nd minute allowed a Majra player to cut in from the left and to the QAF FC byline, before his low cutback was met by Abg Nor Silmy Bin Abg Hj Taha, who rolled the ball into the unguarded goal.

QAF FC refused to be disheartened by the setback, and pushed forward in search of an equalizer, applying heavy pressure on Majra from set plays, but the latter fended off the barrage as they got all eleven men behind the ball to preserve their precious lead.

Hardi Anak Bujang was thrown on in place of the injured Muhammad Raziq bin Abdullah Duat, but the former DPMM FC had little impact on the game as Majra United finished the first DST Super League season unbeaten, and cemented their claim on third place in the standings.

MS ABDB face Kilanas this afternoon as they look to clinch the crown, with an easy win predicted for the DST Super League table-toppers. The last game of the week will see Wijaya FC take on cellar-dwellers Najip FC tonight.
