TABUAN
Muda (the national under-23 team) were held to a 2-2 draw by Lun Bawang
in the DST Super League at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal
Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas yesterday.
Last season’s DST Premier League champions Lun Bawang were the first to find the net early in the 10th minute of the first-half through Christopher Anak Ambon.
Tabuan Muda managed to level the score in the 61st minute through Abdul Khair Hj Basri before Mohd Amin Sisa made 2-1 to the national under-23 team just 11 minutes later.
Lun Bawang refused to back down as they were pressing for an equaliser and their hard work finally paid off in the 77th minute when Christopher bagged his second goal.
With the draw Tabuan Muda remained in fourth position in the 10-team league table with 21 points, three point behind third-placed Najip I-Team and 12 points behind Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB).
Defending champions Indera Sports Club is second with 25 points, eight points behind the league leaders MS ABDB.
Meanwhile, for Lun Bawang the result was their second draw of the season and they now sit ninth in the table with eight points behind eight placed IKLS FC and ahead of Kilanas FC who have yet to register any point in the tournament.
The tournament continues tonight with a match between Wijaya FC and Royal Brunei Police Forces Sports Council (MS PDB) at the Berakas Sports Complex at 8.15pm.
Indera SC will go up against Lun Bawang at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Saturday at 8.15 pm.
MS PDB will face IKLS FC at the same time at the Tutong Sports Complex.
