MAJRA FC will not settle for anything less than a win in their highly anticipated DST Super League opener today.Majra will go head to head against Jerudong FC tonight at the Balapan Track and Field in Berakas at 8.15pm. "Despite the presence of many strong teams, we (will not settle for any draws) as we will be playing to win this tournament," said Majra coach Hj Faizalani Hj Abdul Ghani.
There is a good reason for his confidence with Majra now boosted by the addition of four former DPMM FC players on the team's roster. "We began training even before the announcement of the league, so the team is highly motivated to face our opponents," Hj Faizalani told The Brunei Times.
Jerudong FC, however, is not as prepared.
"Our team could only gather and train after a long day at work and only for approximately 45 minutes only," said Jerudong coach Ali Rashid when asked about his concerns.
"We managed to devise some new plays but improving our tactics proved to be difficult due to insufficient training time," he added.
Jerudong will also be boosted by a number of new faces, the most notable being former DPMM FC striker Abu Bakar Mahari.
"Aside from physical training, I also provided information for the new players so they can better their understanding of (our) game, for example positioning," said Ali Rashid.
Despite so many setbacks, the coach is still not ready to relinquish the game to Majra. "All the teams are equally strong so the chance of winning is 50/50 for both teams," he said. The Brunei Tim
