MAJRA FC had to come back from a goal down twice to share the spoils with Jerudong FC in their first game of the DST Super League, fighting out to an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Balapan Track and Field at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

Md Bazli Said gave Jerudong FC the perfect start when he beat Majra FC goalkeeper Mohd Najib Asri from outside the penalty box to put them ahead just four minutes into the game.

Majra FC would equalise in the final minute of the first-half through Dannie Hendra Mohd Idris.

He made up for an earlier missed open attempt at the goal by collecting a superb pass from the midfield before calmly driving the ball past Jerudong FC goalkeeper Abdul Hafiz Hj Mursadi.

There was plenty of action in the second half.

Md Bazli came close to scoring a brace but he made a mess of a free header in front of the goal.

Former DPMM FC striker Muhd Abu Bakar Mahari made it 2-1 for Jerudong FC with a spectacular goal when he netted from an almost impossible angle in the 64th minute.

Their jubilation was short lived, however, as Faizal Mohammad equalised for Majra FC six minutes later when he tapped in a wayward shot from Ak Nurul Aleshahnezan Pg Metali.

Jerudong FC manager Hj Jalaluddin Hj Ghazali was disappointed to walk away from the match without maximum points.

He felt that they could have won had their defenders been more focused in the game.

"I am not happy with the result. We could have done better and I think we controlled the game. They (Majra FC) have good strikers with good finishing and, tonight, our defenders were not at their best," said the coach.

"They lost focus in the game. They made some mistakes and Majra FC took their chances and scored," he said.

"However, my players did give their 100 per cent in the game tonight. We (just) need to improve on our tactics especially on defence."
