QAF FC catat sejarah liga

Jerudong FC, Najip akhiri musim tanpa gol

– Hasrulraizan

Najip, Jerudong share spoils

NAJIP FC and Jerudong FC shared the spoils after they played out to a 0-0 stalemate in the DST Super League last night.

Jerudong had the bulk of the chances but Najip goalkeeper Abd Hafiz Abd Rahim was in brilliant form to deny his opponents at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

Mohd Bazli Mohd Said came close in the 23rd minute for Jerudong with an attempt from inside the box, only to see his attempt go inches wide off the post.

Muhd Arif Ali Rahman tried a long range shot five minutes later but Abd Hafiz got his fingertips to it.
The next chance for Jerudong came in the 33rd minute after Hidayatur Rahim Aliuddin put Muhd Arif through but Abd Hafiz put up an acrobatic save to deny the goal.

Jerudong almost got in front on the hour mark through Mohd Esmendy Brahim after he fired a low shot but Abd Hafiz managed to push the ball out for a corner.

Najip FC had a good chance four minutes later but Abd Afiq Roslan saw his shot deflect off a Jerudong defender and just over the crossbar.

Jerudong captain Hj Shariful Bahrin Hj Zainal got a shot on target in the 72nd minute but the Najip custodian once again came up with another save.

Another chance came begging for Jerudong two minutes later but Reniel Ruani had his shot denied by Abd Hafiz.

Ampuan Mohd Endy Azri Ampuan Hj Idris almost stole all three points for Najip in the 88th minute but Jerudong custodian Mohd Adri Abd Kahar was not to be beaten at the near post.

Jerudong would finish the match with 10 men after Reniel was sent off for a challenge in injury time.

Hj Md Jalaluddin Hj Ghazali, the Jerudong head coach, felt that it was a fair result.

“It is a fair result as we haven’t been training as much. The players are demotivated as we have had a lot of games postponed,” said Hj Md Jalaluddin in an interview with The Brunei Times after the match.

“It killed the momentum for us but our performance tonight (Wednesday night) was alright. I’m still happy eventhough we would have loved to win it,” he added.

Najip assistant coach Noor Masaidirwan Md Saini shared the same sentiments.

“It was a fair result for us both as the match was 50/50,” said Noor Masaidirwan.

“We didn’t have a full squad as a lot of players are out with injuries or suspensions,” he added.

It was a goalfest in the other match as QAF FC thrashed Wijaya FC 8-0 at the Berakas Sports Complex in Berakas.

Md Mardi Mirza Abdullah Bujang notched a hat-trick while Md Ardie Arsham Md Salleh found the back of the net twice.

Sairful Arizal Hj Ishak, Hardi Anak Bujang and Afindi Yati Tuah also got their names on the scoresheet.

The competition will now take a break and the remaining matches will only be contested in September after the festive season.

Indera SC continue to lead the nine-team table on 37 points from 13 matches.

The Royal Brunei Armed Forces are their closest rivals on 31 points but have played a game more.

Najip are in third on 27 points while both the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council and Liang Lumut Recreation Club are on 23 points from 16 matches.

Najip FC belasah Wijaya

Oleh Hasrulraizan

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 22 Jun – Najip FC membelasah Wijaya FC 5-2 malam tadi untuk mengesahkan tiga tempat teratas Liga Super DST-NFABD 2014 menjadi miliknya, sekurang-kurangnya tempat ketiga dan setinggi-tingginya tempat kedua.

Ampuan Md Endy Azri bin Ampuan Haji Idris membuka tirai jaringan buat Najip FC pada minit ke-9, namun Md Adiman bin Yakub @ Sulaiman berjaya menjadikan kedudukan 1-1 tujuh-belas minit kemudian.

 http://mediapermata.brunei-online.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/PAGE21_20140623_C.jpg

Jerudong FC tambah derita QAF FC

QAF FC kemudiannya berjaya menyamakan kedudukan buat kali kedua setelah Md Abu Bakar bin Mahari mencipta jaringan pada minit ke-58, namun kedudukan 2-2 hanya bertahan lima minit kerana Md Fadhlullah bin Metassan mengembalikan pendahuluan satu gol Jerudong FC.

 http://mediapermata.brunei-online.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/PAGE21_20140623_A.jpg

Najip started the game brightly with Ampuan Mohd Endy Azri Ampuan Hj Idris putting them ahead in the ninth minute, but Wijaya would equalise via Mohd Adiman Yakub Sulaiman in the 26th minute.

Noor Raimi Karim would put Najip ahead once again just three minutes before the half-time break to give his team a 2-1 lead going into the second-half.

Najip continued to dominate and they doubled their lead in the 63rd minute via Azri Zahari.

Abdul Al Wardi Abdul Hamid would add another goal in the 83rd minute before, Noor Raimi scored his second and Najip’s fifth of the night in the 87th minute.

Indera SC one win away from crown

Saturday, June 21, 2014

INDERA SC boosted their undefeated streak to 13 after edging the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) 1-0 in their DST Super League clash last night.

The league leaders now sit on 37 points with 12 wins and one draw, six points ahead of the Royal Brunei Armed Force Sports Council (MS ABDB).

They now need just one more win from the remaining three games to be crowned champions.

Their remaining opponents are QAF FC who currently sit in seventh with 14 points, Najip FC and MS ABDB.

MS PDB are in fourth with 23 points behind Najip FC, also on 23 points but with four games in hand.

Indera’s winner was thanks to Mohd Zulkhairy Razali, who sent in a banger from 5m outside the penalty box in the 37th minute at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

Zulkhairy, with 11 goals to his name, is the league’s current top scorer.

The action continues today with Najip FC taking on Wijaya FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, while Jerudong FC take on QAF FC at the Berakas Sports Complex at 8.15pm.

Najip FC kian meningkat

Ketika barisan hadapan MS PDB terus gagal menggugat gawang Najip FC, para pemain Najip FC pula terus ghairah mencari gol tambahan walaupun selepas Md Karimurrizal terpaksa dikeluarkan selepas mengalami kekejangan kaki.

– Hasrulraizan

MS ABDB belasah LLRC

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 15 Jun – Md Mazazizi bin Mazlan dan Md Khairuddin bin Abdul Kadir masing-masing menjaringkan dua gol dalam amukan lima gol separuh masa kedua MS ABDB, sekali gus menukar arus kemenangan kepada 6-2 ke atas LLRC FT.

Bagaimanapun, LLRC FT lebih awal membolosi lawan menerusi jaringan Md Hakeem bin Keri pada minit ke-27. Namun pendahuluan 1-0 hanya bertahan empat minit apabila pertahanan MS ABDB, Suhaimi bin Haji Md Yussof menambat kedudukan.

Tatkala kedua-dua pasukan bakal menamatkan separuh masa 1-1, Awangku Md Azrul Ariffin bin Pengiran Matussin membawa LLRC FT mendahului 2-1 sebelum sepak mula separuh masa kedua.

Md Mazazizi (duduk kiri), Sld Md Khairuddin (berdiri dua kiri), Suhaimi (berdiri dua kanan)

– Hasrulraizan

Najip FC replace MS PDB

Monday, June 16, 2014

NAJIP FC downed the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) 3-0 for the second time in the DST Super League to replace the policemen in the league table last night.

They now sit third with 23 points, overshadowing MS PDB.

Though MS PDB are also on 23 points, Najip FC top the policemen because of a superior goal difference of 10.

After a goalless first half, Najip FC came out more determined and finally added two goals through Muhd Karimurrizal Kasmi in the span of five minutes in the 61st and 66th minute.

Najip FC’s Mohd Aminuddin Zakwan Mohd Tahir then went on to slot in the team’s third in the 87th minute of the match at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

Najip FC coach Hj Johari Bungsu explained to The Brunei Times that the goalless first half was part of his tactics when asked if he felt his team started on the slow side.

“Our strategy was to play calm, maintain our passing and control our stamina in the first half,” said Hj Johari.

“In the second half our target was to close in on the left and right flank, which was really important because that’s how we scored our first and second goal.

“My players showed a good performance tonight but they will need to improve on their stamina for their next game against the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) on Saturday.

“It was simple play and belief by the players as well as some good finishing.

“Since a few of our players returned from their Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy training camp in Sabah, we have been giving them extra support,” added Hj Johari.

MS ABDB gun down LLRC FT

Saturday, June 14, 2014

THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) thrashed Liang Lumut Recreational Club (LLRC) FT 6-2 in their DST Super League clash last night.

MS ABDB have now accumulated 31 points in 14 matches to sit three points behind league leaders Indera SC, who boast two games in hand.

LLRC FT remain in fifth on the table with 20 points.

It was a one sided match from the start with MS ABDB playing in LLRC FT’s half.

Their dominance however did not translate into goals as they found themselves down 2-1 at half-time at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

LLRC FT scored the opener after a series of passes in the box finally ended up at the foot of Hakeem Keri, who slid the ball in to the bottom left corner in the 27th minute.

LLRC FT goalkeeper Md Fakhrul Amin Sanif picked up a red card in the 31st minute following a dangerous tackle in the penalty box on MS ABDB’s Mohd Nazirul Hazim Hj Mahadin.

MS ABDB’s Suhaimi Hj Md Yussof stepped up to the spot to equalise the score at 1-1 with a simple shot to the right hand corner.

LLRC FT’s Ak Md Haffiz Pg Suhadi managed to restore his team’s lead after receiving a perfectly timed through ball before knocking it into the back of the net seconds before the half-time whistle.

The match became more lopsided with MS ABDB taking full advantage of their extra man on the field.

They eventually equalised through Mohd Mazazizi Mazlan, who was on the receiving end of a deflection off LLRC FT’s goalkeeper before pelting his attempt past him in the 60th minute.

Mazazizi helped his team take their first lead of the match after sending in a low cross into the box to Mohd Khairuddin Abd Kadir, who finished it off with a slight tap in the 65th minute.

MS ABDB’s Mohd Fadhli Hj Awg Salleh went on to assist an unmarked Mazazizi with his second goal of the night by sending in another low cross past the keeper before it was tapped in during the 70th minute.

The barrage of goals didn’t stop there as Mohd Safari Wahit tried his luck from 30m out with a screamer to further their lead to 5-2 in the 85th minute.

Khairuddin finished off the game with one last goal after finding an opening in the 89th minute.

Jerudong, MS PDB sekadar seri

AN EQUALISER in the dying seconds of their DST Super League game earned Jerudong FC a 3-3 draw with the Royal Brunei Police Forces Sports Council (MS PDB) last night.

MS PDB looked poised to seal the win after Mohd Saiful Rizal Hj Awang's shot was deflected by a Jerudong defender and rolled past the goal-line in the 90th minute.

However, Jerudong answered back swiftly with their a goal from Mohd Enddy Soehardy Awg Sapar seconds later.

MS PDB are still third with 23 points while Jerudong stay eighth in the ninth-team table.

It was a sluggish start to the match at the Berakas Sports Complex as both teams were having a hard time communicating.

Jerudong came up with the first goal when Mohd Faiz Farhan Kamat received a cross and headed in it in from the far post in the 22nd minute.

Mohd Bazli Mohd Said doubled Jerudong’s lead in the 39th minute after scoring from the edge of the box when his shot was deflected off a MS PDB defender and went over goalkeeper Awg Azlan Shah Hj Putera’s head into the net.

The policemen started the second half more confidently after substitute Rosmini Hj Abd Kahar pulled the deficit back when receiving a well-placed long ball from defence and slotting it in.

Rosmini then equalised in the 88th minute when his free-kick was fumbled by Jerudong goalkeeper Abdul Samad Hj Gapor.

Speaking in an interview with The Brunei Times after the match, Jerudong team manager Hj Jalaludin Hj Ghazali expressed his satisfaction with the outcome but expressed some concerns with their performance.
“Overall, I'm happy with our performance tonight,” he said.

“There were moments when I thought we were going to win tonight, especially after the first half.

“We don't practice enough so that's why we got tired, and that caused us to be careless at the end.

“First half we were in control of the game and, at times, were able to take advantage of their defenders’ miscommunication.

“So it was good, but unfortunately we lost the momentum in second half,” Hj Jalaludin said.

MS PDB head coach Sahrin Mohd Jaya stressed on improving their in-game tactics to avoid any more mishaps.

“We were unstable in the first half and that was because our players weren't concentrating properly and let the opponents work the ball in midfield,” he said.

“It was frustrating to watch.

“But in the second half, we subbed in Rosmini to hold the ball up the field and to make those crucial passes and provide options for his teammates.

“We need to work on our in-game communication and concentration in our next game and hopefully we can produce a good result,” he added.

MS PDB will face off with Najip FC on Sunday at the same venue.

Jerudong face QAF FC at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas on Saturday.

Both matches will start at 8.15pm.

LLRC FT kukuh kedudukan

MS ABDB keep title hopes alive

ROYAL Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) kept their DST Super League title hopes alive with a slim 2-1 victory over Kilanas FC.

Mohd Khairuddin Abdul Kadir and Mohd Baharin Hamidon scored for MS ABDB in the victory at the Berakas Sports Complex last night.

Following the withdrawal of Majra United from the league, the new updated table by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam has Indera Sports Club (SC) still topping the now nine-team league table with 34 points after 12 matches with four games remaining.

Meanwhile, MS ABDB now recorded 28 points from 13 matches with only three games left to play.

In an interview with The Brunei Times last night, MS ABDB manager Major (A) Pg Muhd Mufid Pg Hj Umar Ariffin said they will fight until the very end for the title this season.

“We have three matches left in the league and we must win all the games, then we will see how Indera’s progress in their remaining matches,” he said after the match.

“We will face LLRC FT (Liang Lumut Recreational Club Football Team) next, then we will play Najip FC and we will face Indera in our final game,”

“What we need to do now is to keep focus on winning in every game and at the same time keeping pace with Indera,” he added.

Mohd Khairuddin got the armymen in front in the 41st minute when he was sent through inside the penalty box with a beautiful through pass by midfielder Mohd Mazazizi Mazlan.

Mohd Baharin increased the lead in 62nd minute with a strong header following a corner-kick from the right.

Captain Ak Mohd Safri Pg Othman almost made it 3-0 with a powerful freekick from 20 metres out but goalkeeper Abdul Rahman Hazmiw Hayat rescued Kilanas with a fingertip save.

Mohd Nuralifullah Hj Zaini would pull one goal back for Kilanas in the 81st minute, but MS ABDB had all their players in their own half to defend their 2-1 lead until the final whistle.

Indera was supposed to see action against QAF FC at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas last night, but the match was postponed to a later date.

According to a statement from officials, the date for the match will be announced by the NFABD in due time.

DST Super League match between Najip FC and Jerudong FCpostponed

Sunday, June 8, 2014

LAST night’s DST Super League match between Najip FC and Jerudong FC was postponed due to the absence of seven Najip FC players who were chosen for the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT) national team currently at a training camp in Sabah.

Speaking in a telephone interview with The Brunei Times, Najip FC head coach Hj Johari Bungsu confirmed the postponement of the match at the Berakas Sports Complex and quickly mentioned how proud the club is for being able to contribute seven players to the national team.

“As a club, we're proud that our players are chosen to represent the country on a national level. There's no greater joy for us,” said Hj Johari.

“We fully support our players in building their skills, talent and capabilities as a footballer.

“I believe this is our responsibility as a club… To see our players progress further and further.

“So in light of the recent development, the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam and Najip FC had to postpone the match with Jerudong FC,” he added.

Hj Johari also said that their game against Wijaya FC on Wednesday has been put on hold for the same reason.

The head coach, though, was unable to confirm the dates of the postponed games.

League action continues today with league leaders and defending champions Indera Sports Club going up against seventh-placed QAF FC at the Berakas Sports Complex.

Second-placed Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) will meet bottom dwellers Kilanas FC at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

Both matches will start at 8:15pm.

Table toppers Indera have yet to lose this season and only have four more games left in the campaign.

Indera are at the summit with 34 points from 12 matches while MS ABDB have 31 points from 14 matches.

Indera’s last match saw them come back from a two-goal deficit to beat Wijaya FC 4-2, with all of Indera’s goals coming in the second half at the Balapan Track and Field.

It was the second game in the space of a month Indera battled back to victory after their 4-3 win against Kilanas on May 4.

Kilanas were leading 3-0 but were unable to defend their lead and let in four unanswered goals, with all of Indera’s goals once again coming in the second half.

Indera kekal tanpa kalah

 http://mediapermata.brunei-online.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/PAGE20-FC_0606023213198.jpg

 http://mediapermata.brunei-online.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/PAGE20-FC_0506023113356.jpg

Md Fadhli meraikan gol ketiga MS ABDB seminit sebelum perlawanan tamat.

Indera SC seal comeback

LEAGUE leaders Indera Sports Club boosted their undefeated streak to 12 games in a row after taking out Wijaya FC 4-2 during their DST Super League clash last night.

Wijaya looked like they were going to take the game home after a well-played first half that saw them lead 2-0.

However, Indera were the stronger and more offensive side during the second half at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, scoring four unanswered goals to take the tie.

Indera lead the table with 34 points in 12 matches with four games remaining, ahead of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council who sit in second with 31 points through 14 games.
Indera SC manager Rosdin Hj Abd Aziz said that the players came back strong after an uplifting team talk during half-time.

“The important thing is that we must believe, that is the key,” Rosdin told The Brunei Times after the game.

“We must believe that we could do it in the second half because the game was 50-50, so the chances were there.

“For the first 15 minutes we told our players to attack, and if we could at least score one goal, anything can happen. The second most important thing was the three points, so now we are still unbeaten,” noted Rosdin.
Indera’s consistent attacks paid off when Md Nur Ikwan Othman sent in a bullet from outside the box, which found its way through a tight gap in the 54th minute.

They then equalised in the 63rd minute with a header from Reduan Hj Petara, with credit going to Md Khairul Anwar Abd Rahim’s cross.

The momentum didn’t stop there as Indera’s captain, Sahrin Momin, sent in a free-kick from the corner flag which Md Nur Ikwan headed in to the back of the net in the 69th minute to go up 3-2.

Indera managed to add one last goal through Md Zulkhairy Razali, who made a precise run to reach Md Khairul’s through ball before sliding it in to finish at 4-2 in the 84th minute.

Khalil Saab scored both of Wijaya’s goals, the first in the fifth minute and the second in the 20th minute.

Khalil’s opener came from some classy play as he played a one-two with Ak Anaqi Sufi Pg Hj Omar Baqi, who then laid off a perfectly timed pass that saw Khalil surge ahead of Indera’s defence before tapping in the ball.

His second goal was thanks to Jamrin Johari’s free kick which he directed into the back of the net with a flick of his foot.

With just four games left to play, Indera manager Rosdin said they want to try and maintain their defensive record and keep their undefeated streak rolling.

“The players were really tired because we only had two days rest since our previous match (Indera thrashed Jerudong FC 6-0 on Sunday),” said Rosdin.

“They gave 100 per cent, and our belief tonight was that we could do it again after what we did against Kilanas FC last time,” added Rosdin. Indera SC were down 3-0 in their game against Kilanas on May 4 but managed to fight back to secure a 4-3 triumph.

QAF FC go down to ABDB

|     Fadhil Yunus     |

QAF FC suffered yet another setback in a confidence-dampening season in the DST Super League following a 3-0 defeat at the expense of second-placed MS ABDB at the Balapan Track and Field last night.
Such was QAF FC ’s continuing disillusionment in the league that they were unable to even stifle MS ABDB’s resurgence of trying to keep in tabs with the free-scoring Indera SC’s side.

QAF FC could not find the pressing and their passing were way short of their usual flowing game. They did not cause too much trouble whereas MS ABDB were clinical in their finishing accompanied with lapse of concentration.

QAF FC fell behind in the 11th minute through Mohd Khairuddin Abd Kadir in a lead that the hosts would never relinquish.

MS ABDB found a player striding free on the right before pulling a pass to the middle in which an unmarked Abd Azizi Ali Rahman gleefully accepted to score a rasping drive.

QAF FC’s passing was easily intercepted on numerous instances and this initiated the platform for the army side to build an attack or happily keeping possession.

QAF FC did manage a shot on target but it was the only notable move that got the army side on alert.

Mohd Fadhli Hj Awg Salleh wrapped up an easy win for MS ABDB with a coolly lofted shot after beating the offside trap with relative ease and summed up QAF’s latest setback.
