KASUKA FC created significant distance in the race for fifth place in the DST Super League after a thumping 6-0 rout over Menglait FC at the Berakas Sports Complex recently.
The result meant that they ended a two-game winless drought and closed the gap on fourth-placed Wijaya FC to within a single point.
Kasuka FC had no such problems despite missing the services of experienced player Afindi Yati bin Tuah who was serving a suspension.
Md Shahrin bin Zaini opened the floodgates in the fifth minute before Haji Khairol Anwar bin Md Yaakub doubled his side’s lead in the 19th minute.
Md Hairunvikhwan bin Kusno made it 3-0 in the 25th minute before Haji Khairol Anwar grabbed his second of the game in the 37th minute.
Nazri bin Haji Hassan added his name to the score-sheet in the 52nd minute before Md Hairunvikhwan completed the scoring with his second goal six minutes later.
The league continues this Friday with Indera SC looking to close the gap with second-placed Kota Ranger with a win against MS PDB at the Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.
In contrast, MS PDB who trail Kasuka by nine points in sixth place, must win to keep their slim hopes of a top five finish alive.
