LIANG Lumut Recreational Club Football Team (LLRC FT) was the only team that boasted a 100 per cent win record following the second week of the DST Super League 2012/2013.
The action packed week kicked off with the Royal Brunei Police Forces Sports Council (MS PDB) managing a 4-4 draw against Majra FC at the Balapan Track and Field at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Dec 21.
The result was a disappointing one for MS PDB who led 2-0 early in the first half but they can at least take solace in the fact that they did not go home empty handed for the second week straight.
They lost 1-2 in their league opener against Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB).
The highly anticipated clash between MS ABDB and QAF FC on Dec 22 at the Balapan Track and Field had to be postponed to a later date due to unfavourable weather and field condition.
The downpour did not douse the flame of the league though with a total of 16 goals being scored in the next day's two matches.
Indera SC whipped Wijaya FC 7-3 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, while Jerudong FC thrashed Najip FC 6-0 in the later match at the same venue.
The big win for Jerudong saw them leap frog their opponents into second spot on the table with a total of four points.
The final match of the second week saw 10-man LLRC FT fight to a 3-0 win against Kilanas FC on Dec 25.
LLRC FT were put in an unfavourable position in the 18th minute when striker Mohd Shah Hafiz Kifli was thrown out of the match at the Balapan Track and Field after being accused of elbowing a defender.
It, however, proved only to be minor inconvenience as they out-played and out-hustled their opponents in all aspects of the game.
The win saw LLRC FT cement their position at the top of the table followed closely by Jerudong FC.
Indera SC currently sit in third on equal points with Jerudong FC, their position determined by a lower goal difference.
MS PDB will kick off the new year against QAF FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium next Friday (Jan 4) at 8.15pm.
Najip FC will hope to record their first win of the tournament against Majra FC next Saturday at the Balapan Track and Field at 8.15pm.
MS ABDB will look to improve on fourth in the standings when they face Wijaya FC at the Balapan Track and Field at 4.15pm for next Sunday.
Jerudong FC will play Kilanas FC later on the same day at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
The last match for the third week will feature undefeated LLRC FT as they lace up for Indera SC at the Balapan Track and Field at 8.15pm.
