Pengiran Muhd Farisan bin Pengiran Haji Metassan, tetapi Pengurus Indera
SC, Awang Rosdin bin Haji Abdul Aziz menegaskan, “Kami akan pastikan
pisang berbuah tiga kali.”
DST-NFABD 2015 berkenaan.
Piala Sumbangsih DST tidak kurang pentingnya dengan
Piala Liga Super DST dan Piala FA DST kerana apabila MS ABDB bermain
bolasepak, maruah MS ABDB menjadi taruhannya, maka oleh sebab itulah
kami mesti menang untuk menjaga maruah MS ABDB, tegas Mejar (U) Pengiran
Muhd Farisan.
Manakala Awang Rosdin menegaskan Piala Sumbangsih sama
Menyentuh mengenai persiapan pasukan, Mejar (U) Pengiran
akhir.
Sementara Awang Rosdin mendedahkan Indera SC mengalami
Indera SC.
Piala Sumbangsih DST 2015 menjadi petanda bermulanya
musim baru liga bolasepak kebangsaan: Liga Super DST 2015 dan Liga
Perdana DST 2015, yang mempertemukan Juara Liga Super DST 2014, Indera
SC dengan Juara Piala FA DST 2014, MS ABDB. Musim lalu iaitu Piala

MS ABDB juara Piala FA DST 2014
Posted date: January 06, 2015
Soldadu Md Tarmizi bin Haji Mat Johari bermain cemerlang menggagalkan percubaan-percubaan lawan.
Pengarah DST Communication Sdn Bhd, Awang Lattif bin Pehin Dato Haji Md Yussof sambil diiringi Pengerusi Pertandingan NFABD, Haji Md Noor bin Haji Hamid.
Selain menjulang Piala FA DST, MS ABDB turut menerima piala iringan juara, pingat emas dan wang tunai $5,000, sementara Najip FC membawa pulang piala iringan naib juara, pingat perak dan wang tunai $3,000.

Supersubs deliver cup to MS ABDB
| Fadhil Yunus |
MD BAHARIN Hj Hamidon and Abd Azizi bin Ali Rahman came off the bench to score in the 2-0 win over Najip FC as MS ABDB retained the DST FA Cup at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium last night.
It was a tactical masterstroke by MS ABDB manager Major (A) Pg Farisan bin Pg Metassan, who brought the duo on 16 minutes from time.
Mohd Aliuddin bin Awg Hj Basar was the first to make an effort at goal when his ambitious effort arrowed past the post.
Najip FC nearly went ahead after beating an offside trap but could not overcome the outstretched legs of MS ABDB shot- stopper Mohd Tarmizi bin Hj Mat Johari.
Najip FC’s finest move of the game was initiated by star player Mohd Azri bin Zahari, whose shot was saved by the keeper.
Merely moments after entering the fray, Mohd Baharin sent the strong MS ABDB crowd into raptures.
Najip were seemingly not out of contention and had their spells to get back into the game but MS ABDB weathered the storm.
The army’s excellent individual qualities led to Abd Azizi having all the time in the world to drill an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner past Najip FC goalkeeper Fardillah bin Hj Md Ali effectively kill off the tie.
Awang Abdul Latiff bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Hj Md Yusof, member of DST Board of Directors, presented the prizes.

THE
Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) successfully
defended their DST FA Cup title after a 2-0 victory over Najip FC last
night thanks to goals by second half substitutes Pvt Mohd Baharin
Hamidon and Pvt Abd Azizi Ali Rahman.MS ABDB came out the more aggressive of the two sides, but it was Najip who almost opened the scoring in the 16th minute at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
Abd Azim Abd Rahman delivered a cross from the left to an unmarked Haziman Hj Abd Halim inside the six-yard box, but the latter couldn’t keep his header on target.
Najip got another opportunity in the 31st minute after Noor Raimi Karim@Syahremy put Hamizan through on goal, but MS ABDB goalkeeper Pvt Mohd Tarmizi Hj Mat Johari cleared his line to gather the ball.
MS ABDB could have stolen one in the 38th minute after Pvt Mohd Tarmizi took a quick goalkick while Najip’s players were still retreating.
Sgt (A) Mohd Haizul Rani Metussin received it on the right and managed to get a shot off on the turn but just missed the target.
Pvt Mohd Nur Ikhmal Damit almost got on the scoresheet in the 49th minute after an attempt from 25 yards out curled just inches off the top right corner.
Another chance came for Najip in the 54th minute after a good ball over the top from midfield found Mohd Azri Zahari down the right but the latter was not able to beat Pvt Mohd Tarmizi at the near post.
MS ABDB sent on the duo of Pvt Mohd Baharin and Pvt Abd Azizi in the 68th minute, and it proved to be the difference.
The deadlock was broken in the 75th minute after the Najip backline failed to deal with a ball from the left.
It was flicked onto the path of Pvt Mohd Baharin to fire past Najip custodian Fardillah Hj Md Ali for the lead.
A bizzare moment occurred in the 83rd minute after the referee got in the way of a MS ABDB pass in midfield.
However, he continued play by completing the pass and almost resulted in another MS ABDB goal.
Najip went all out on the attack and it left their backline fragile.
Sgt (A) Mohd Haizul Rani could have taken a shot himself from the edge of the box but slid a good throughball to his right for Pvt Abd Azizi to bulge the net.
A member of DST’s board of directors, Abdul Lattif Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Hj Md Yusuf, presented the trophy, prizes and medals.
MS ABDB retained their champion’s trophy, won $5,000 and individual medals.
Najip, meanwhile, took home $3,000, a trophy and individual medals.

THE
Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) manager Major Pg
Farisan Pg Metassan couldn’t have played his cards any better during
last night’s DST FA Cup final against Najip FC.MS ABDB successfully defended their title after a 2-0 victory, with the turning point coming in the 68th minute after the introduction of substitutes Pvt Mohd Baharin Hamidon and Pvt Abd Azizi Ali Rahman – both of whom went on to score at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
The manager reserved his players for late in the game knowing that they had the upper hand in terms of fitness, and it was a move which paid off.
“It was part of the tactics to put in our super subs, Pvt Mohd Baharin and Pvt Abd Azizi, in the second half,” said Major Pg Farisan in an interview with The Brunei Times after the triumph.
“We expected them (Najip) to be more defensive and they parked the bus most of the match.
“We waited for it because I thought our fitness level was better.
“It was a good win. And as expected, it was a tough game - but I thought we controlled it.
“The first goal was important as it changed the game. They had to go on the attack and it gave us an opportunity to score again.
“We are now looking forward to the new season. We are recruiting and we will be prepared for the new campaign,” continued Major Pg Farisan, who took over as manager with four games left in the DST Super League season.
Najip head coach Johari Hj Bungsu agreed that the two substitutes made all the difference.
“MS ABDB made two key substitutions that changed the game. Our defenders lost their markers and it gave them a chance… They took it well and scored,” said Johari.
“We were forced to push forward in search of an equaliser and it opened up our defence. In turn, they scored another to kill off the game.
“But overall it was still a good game for us.
“I’m satisfied with the players as they were able to put up a good fight against MS ABDB even though preparation wise they were better than us,” concluded Johari.

MS ABDB expect tough fight from Najip FC
Ak Fauzi Pg Salleh

DEFENDING
champions Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) are
expecting a tough match against Najip FC in the DST FA Cup final at the
Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas tomorrow.
“We always regard all teams with a great respect and Najip are no exception, especially this one is a final game, and I always tell my players to not be too over confident and stick to the plan,” said MS ABDB manager Major Pg Farisan Pg Metassan during the press conference held at the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) House in Berakas yesterday.
“Najip have a lot of good young players and some of them used to play for MS ABDB too. So we are expecting a good game from them.
“Our hope, like all the other clubs including Najip, is to win the FA Cup. But as the defending champions, the mission for us is to defend the title.
“We have prepared well for the competition and we also underwent some serious and intensive training for this final but unfortunately one of our key player midfielder Ak Safri Pg Othman will be missing after two yellow card in the previous games so I think it will affect our game in the midfield.
“But on the bright side we will welcome a number of players from injuries such as strikers Saiful Bahrin and Azizi Ali Rahman for the final and it will definitely give us some boost in the attack.
“We have prepared for the final and we hope to replicate what we did in the training during the game on Sunday,” he added.
MS ABDB defeated QAF FC 3-1 in the semi-finals at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on December 23.
Meanwhile, Najip surprised everyone by taking down the DST Super League champions Indera SC 2-1 the following day.
“We defeated Indera in the semi-final and the team are in a good spirit, but I can tell you honestly that preparation hasn’t been good for us leading to this game,” said Najip’s coach Johari Hj Bungsu.
“I personally think that the date for the final is not doing us any good as most of our players are away for holiday at this time of month.
“As the underdogs, I must say MS ABDB have got advantage over us in this game, but it is also a pressure for them to win this final as they are the favourites and defending champions.
“We met MS ABDB twice in the DST Super League this season and lost both of the matches, but the final is going to be a different situation,” he continued.
“Fitness will be very important as we will be facing a team with a good fitness level and the weather will also play a very important role in deciding our strategy and the outcome of the match.
“When we played Indera in the semis, the spirit was there and we played as a team and I hope that the players can keep the momentum going for the final.
“If we look at the MS ABDB squad, they have balance in all departments and their fitness has always been their strength for many years and they also got two DPMM FC players Md Tarmizi Hj Mat Johari and defender Hj Mohd Yussof Hj Mat Yasin in the team.
“When you play against a team like MS ABDB in the final, you need to be ready for 120 minutes and if we can score goal and stay away from making mistake, we can win,” he added.
MS ABDB defeated Indera 1-0 in the final of the first DST FA Cup two years ago.
Organised by the NFABD the second edition of the tournament offers a cash prize of $5,000, trophy and medals to the winner while the runners-up will receive a cash prize of $3,000, trophy and medals.
