THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) secured a solid 2-0 DST Super League win over eighth-placed IKLS FC at the Tutong Sports Complex on Friday.

The army men are now 11 points ahead of defending champions Indera Sports Club while Najip remained third with 27 points.

MS ABDB’s interim manager, Major (A) Razanol Hardi Abd Razak was delighted over the win, and applauded IKLS FC for giving them a challenging match, and said his team treat every game as important as winning the league.

In an interview with The Brunei Times, Razanol said: “The game against IKLS was quite tough, but securing three points is most important point here. I know that any team we face in the league will always give us a challenge and we are always prepare to give our 100 per cent.”

The army men have a winning streak in the second round of the DST Super league by winning all their five matches till date. Now with only four games left to play, Major Razanol is confident with their consistent form to win the league.

“Can we win the league? The form we have so far suggested yes, we can. However, anything can happen in football, that’s why we always remain focussed. I am happy with the current form of the team. The team’s consistency is the key here if we want to go all the way,” he said.

Major Razanol highlighted that he is just carrying the team that was already built by Major (A) Pg Md Farisan Pg Hj Metassan, MS ABDB’s manager, who is currently outstation to work in Mindanao, Philippines, for a year.

“He is a transformational leader who’s positive influences remain in the squad despite being away thousands of miles in Philippines. He built this team and I am doing the best I can as the interim manager for him.

“For now, we need to get back into training for our next match against Jerudong FC. Let’s hope we can keep the winning streak,” he concluded.

Indera SC will face The Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) tomorrow night at 8:15pm at the Tutong Sports Complex.
