THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) continued their perfect form in the DST Super League 2016 after defeating Lun Bawang 1-0 yesterday.
A goal by Ramizie Ramli in the 30th minute separated both sides at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex in Temburong. MS ABDB were coming off good form crushing Tabuan Muda (national under-21 team) 4-0 in their previous match on April 1 at the Tutong Sports Complex.
With the victory, MS ABDB currently sit at the top of the 10-team league table with 12 points after four wins.
The DST Premier League match also took place yesterday with Menglait FC defeating BSRC FT 5-2 at the Berakas Sports Complex.
Tabuan Muda hit with fine by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD).
In the press release sent by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) on Saturday, the Tabuan Muda have been fined $500 by the national football governing body after their under-23 team failed to list enough players for last season's DST Super League match against Indera Sports Club (SC) on November 22.
The match, which was slated to take place at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, was a replay for the abandoned match between the two teams played on October 26.
The match was called-off in 61st minutes after the referee made a mistake of stopping the game when Indera were reduced to eight players – a decision which is not in line with the FIFA’s ‘Laws of the Game 2015/2016’, which clearly states that match can only be stopped if either team consists of fewer than seven players.
Following the association’s Disciplinary Committee meeting on Friday, Tabuan Muda are guilty of breaching the tournament’s Disciplinary Code of Article 57, Chapter II. “Having reviewed the match report and the letters from the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Secretary of Disciplinary Committee, Team Manager of Tabuan Muda, Head Coach of Tabuan Muda and Director competition, the committee have decided to impose a fine of $500 to team Tabuan Muda,” stated NFABD in the press release yesterday.
“Team Tabuan Muda are given seven days to pay for the fine from the date of notification, upon failure to make the payment, Tabuan Muda will not be allowed to compete in the DST Super League until the payment is made,” it added.
