FOOTBALL fans will have to wait another day to find out who progresses into the next round of the DST Brunei FA Cup as the third round match between Liang Lumut Recreation Club Football Team (LLRC FT) and Setia Perdana had to be called off with the scores reading 0-0 due to heavy rain.

Both teams struggled to perform on the wet conditions of the pitch at the Balapan Track and Field at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, the players finding it almost impossible to pass with accuracy due to the water-logged pitch.

The skies truly opened up in the second-half, forcing the referee to lead both teams into the changing room in the 58th minute.

The referees decided to call off the game after concluding that the conditions of the pitch was unplayable

The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) announced that the game would be held at a later date.

"Match number 33 between LLRC FT and Setia Perdana was forced to be postponed due to bad weather conditions," said NFABD in a text message yesterday.

It was the second match to be postponed in less than a week after last Friday's tie between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) and Sporting FT was also carried forward.

The next match will see the Prisons Department take on Indera Sports Club at the Balapan Track and Field on Saturday at 8pm.
