KOTA Ranger FC made it two wins out of two in the DST Super League with a 2-1 comeback victory over Najip I-Team last night at the Tutong Sports Complex.
The result moves them back up to the top of the 11-team standings with six points displacing the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) to second two points behind.
Md Faisal Ahad gave Najip I-Team the lead five minutes after the interval but it was cancelled out by Md Fathurrahman Embran seven minutes later.
The 17-year-old then netted another in the 74th minute to seal all three points for Kota Ranger.
“Fatur is one of our youngest and talented players. We recruited him last year and we can see he has the potential to be a star, so we risked playing him and we have achieved what we have achieved now,” said Kota Ranger manager Mohamad Azmi Azizul.
“I never expected us to have such a good start to be honest, and God willing, I hope we can be title contenders this year,” he added.
The competition will continue next Friday with Kota Ranger taking on third-placed Kasuka FC at the same venue.
The other game pits bottom side Menglait FC against fifth-placed Wijaya FC at the Berakas Sports Complex.
Both games will kick off at 8.15pm.
