Friday, July 13, 2012

THE BIBD Sports and Recreational Club's Hj Minorhadi Hj Mirhassan (pic) believes his side can spring a surprise when they take on Liang Lumut Recreation Club Football Team (LLRC FT) tonight at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas at 8.15.

Hj Minorhadi remembers how close his side came to handing LRRC FT their first defeat in the DST National Football League at the Berakas Sports Complex last month and feels his players know what they need to do to go one better this time.

"We have not been training for quite some time because some of the players have been busy with work. But will have a game plan and stick to it, pass the ball and hopefully create chances," he said.

"We know what we need to do. LLRC FT is a very good team but we will go there to enjoy the occasion and try our best," he added.

The match is likely to feature the return of strikers Ak Khairul Anwar and Hj Khairul Anwar who missed out in their last encounter with LRRC FT.

"Our two strikers Ak Khairul Anwar and Hj Khairul Anwar are now back to full-fitness and they might start in the game tomorrow," said Hj Minorhadi.

LLRC FT, meanwhile, will not take their opponents lightly.

"BIBD SRC is a good team and they gave us a very good challenge the last time we met," said LLRC FT head coach Hj Affandi Hj Julaihi.

"We have our full squad this time. There are no injuries and some players are back from SUKMA (Malaysia Games) and we have been preparing for this tournament," he said.

Asked on his strategy for the game, the head coach replied: "We used to play with a 3-5-2 formation. However, since we have our full squad now, I would like to see the team to play a 4-3-2-1 formation. I would like to see how the midfielders and the strikers going to link-up in the attack."

"Amirul Jafri and Safuan Juhar will be playing in the midfield. They are going to be influential in determining the flow of the game." he added.-Ak Fauzi Pg Salleh
