MS ABDB shift to second after romping past IKLS FC

THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) moved to second in the DST Super League after a resounding 5-0 win over IKLS FC last night.

Pvt Abdul Azizi Ali Rahman’s hat-trick at the Tutong Sports Complex helped the army men jump two spots to second, and they now have 18 points from six games.

Najip I-Team have the same number of points but trail MS ABDB due to goal difference, with Wijaya FC now dropping to fourth as a result of last night’s match.

Also on 18 points are league leaders and defending champions Indera Sports Club, who have a goal difference of 23.

MS ABDB have a goal difference of 19 while Najip I-Team have a goal difference of two.

Pvt Abdul Azizi opened the scoring in the ninth minute and all was quiet until just after the hour-mark, when MS ABDB scored three quick-fire goals to kill the game off.

Pvt Mohamad Aliuuddin Awg Hj Besar made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute, Pvt Abdul Azizi set the score at 3-0 in the 65th minute and bagged his hat-trick two minutes later.

Pvt (A) Mohammad Mazazizi Mazlan completed the rout in the 83rd minute.

The second-tier DST Premier League will come to a conclusion tonight with champions Kota Ranger FC facing Tabuan Under-18 (national Under-18 team) at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas at 8.15pm.

Kota Ranger won the league on Friday night after beating basement dwellers Perkasa 4-3 in their second last game of the season to take an unassailable four-point lead over Tabuan Under-18.
