DST Super League match called off after players clash

THE Brunei DST Super League match between Indera SC and Kasuka FC has to be called off after angry scenes unfolded following an off-the-ball incident just two minutes shy off half-time at the Berakas Sports Complex yesterday.
The episode began as soon as a Kasuka player has just cleared a ball when both sets of players raced to each other seemingly in discontentment with Kasuka’s Afindi Yati Tuah lying to the ground before the referee approached a match official for a view on the incident.
Both set of players waited for the judgment as the referee flashed the red card to Indera’s Hardi Bujang prompting a tirade of verbal exchanges between both clubs and the match officials.
Hardi returned to the pitch clearly annoyed by the actions of his former QAF team-mate and had to be separated from each other as Afindi continued lying in the ground.
Tempers frayed as the incident triggered a major unrest among the Indera SC supporters which subsequently came to a fiery end as both sides were ushered to the dressing rooms.

It would be the final time that the players were on the pitch with the decision being made to stop the match in light of the incident fearing the safety of the match officials.
A representative from National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) has announced that the league match between Indera SC and Kasuka FC has been called off due to unforeseen circumstances.
The country’s football governing body will be investigating the incident and the decision to overrule the red card to Indera’s player Hardi Bujang is yet to be known.
Meanwhile, Wijaya FC racked up their second successive victory of the campaign after a 2-0 win over MS PDB with Awangku Anaqi Sufi bin Pengiran Omar Baki and Mohd Shah Azahar Abdullah Ahar grabbing the goals.
Tabuan Under-21 also notched their second victory of the season after beating Lun Bawang 3-1 at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex in the Temburong district.
Tabuan Under-21 forward Nursyazwan Halidi opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Abd Afiq Roslan doubled the advantage in the 40th minute.
Amir Bujang reduced the arrears for the hosts in the hour mark but Tabuan Under-21 restored the two-goal cushion through Abd Khair Haji Basri’s strike in the 64th minute.
