MS ABDB manager Major (A) Razanol Hardi Abd Razak was delighted with the win however admits that the league title will be tough to defend this year.

“Wijaya played fantastic and that was a clear message to us that every team will be looking to dethrone us,” said Major Razanol in an interview with The Brunei Times after the win.

“Winning the title was hard, but defending the title will be much harder.

“We saw how well Indera Sports Club (SC) did last night (Saturday night) after winning 7-0 against Jerudong FC - who were a good solid team too and of course we will be nervous.

“However, we will do our best to defend the title. Our strategy is to maintain that momentum until the end of the season.

“Winning the title is like a marathon, not a sprint. Making sure our players are balanced in fitness and stamina is very crucial.

“We secured three points today (yesterday) and that’s what matters the most at the moment,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Najip I-Team sent a painful message to the newly-promoted Kasuka FC after beating them 5-0 at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas while the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) scrapped a 1-0 win against Lun Bawang at the Batu Apoi Sport Complex in Temburong.
