QAF FC'S manager Rahim Hj Daud paid tribute to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) and admitted that the DST Super League trophy looks to be heading the soldiers' way.

"It is over for us," said Rahim, whose team lost 3-1 to MS ABDB on Wednesday night despite enjoying a one-man advantage for more than 80 minutes.

"I can declare now they are the champions. With the way they played against us there is no doubt. They are too strong for us. They are the strongest in the league.

"Even playing with 10 men, they were still able to beat us everywhere in the game," said Rahim after the match on Wednesday.

Midfielder Mohd Baharin Hamidon was shown a straight red after appearing to stop the ball from entering the net with his hand in front of the QAF's goal in the seventh minute of their match at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

Though Mardi Mirza Abdullah put QAF ahead from the penalty spot, a goal from Mohd Khairul Mee Mail and a brace from Mohd Isa Hj Bahar helped MS ABDB to maintain their unbeaten record in the league with six wins and one draw.

The leaders now hold a commanding six-point lead at the top of the table collecting 19 points out of possible 21 after week eight of the DST Super League, with two only two games remaining.

QAF, meanwhile, are sixth in the table with 10 points.

They will go up against Wijaya at the Balapan Track and Field at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas on Sunday at 8.15pm, the last of three week nine matches.

The match was slated to be held last Saturday until it was postponed due to floodlight failure.

Second-placed Indera Sports Club did not take to the field in the last round of action as more than half of the squad had just returned from Vietnam last week, where they were preparing for next month's 2014 AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Challenge Cup qualifiers in the Philippines with DPMM FC.

They will play Kilanas FC in the first game of week nine today.

The match is set to kick off at 4:15pm at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

The second match of week nine pits Liang Lumut Recreational Club Football Team (LLRC) against Majra United FC at the Balapan Track and Field on Saturday at 8.15pm.

Other week eight action saw Jerudong FC snatch a late 1-1 draw against LLRC.

Md Helmi Md Noorazmi put LLRC infront early in the 13th minute but Jerudong's Asnawi Syazni Abdul Aziz ensured his team would not go home empty handed when he was the fastest to react after a scramble in front of the LLRC goal in the 83rd minute.

The week also saw Wijaya held to a 2-2 draw by Majra.

Wijaya's captain Marhazif Ahad put his team ahead in the 45th minute and Ak Anaqi Sufi Pg Hj Omar Baqi doubled the lead with a chip over the goalkeeper after following through an awkward bounce moments after the restart.

Majra replied with goals from Dannie Hendra Mohd Idris and Ahmad Hafiz Said.
