TWO goals from Mohd Huzairol Mohd Idris and strikes from Mohd Saiful
Rizal Hj Awang and Captain Rosmini Hj Abdul Kahar helped Royal Brunei
Polices Forces Sports Council (MS PDB) beat QAF FC 4-1 in the DST Super
League at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last night. It was QAF FC who opened the scoring after just two minutes off the clock.
Mardi Mirza Abdullah beat the offside trap from a long ball, and fired the ball past the MS PDB goalkeeper.
The policemen's decision to deploy a five-man midfield, with Captain Rosmini Hj Kahar deployed wide on the left as Mohd Syarafuddin Hamdi Hj Talip played the solo role up top, paid dividends almost immediately.
MS PDB replied in the 14th minute when Mohd Huzairol's strike from 20 metres out flew past the QAF FC goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
The policemen would came close to adding a second with two good opportunities in the space of one minute but the attempts of Mohd Syarafuddin and then Rokiman Kisut were denied.
Mohd Huzairol put MS PDB infront by scoring from the free-kick in the 24th minute.
QAF FC offered little threat in the MS PDB half afterwards, with Micky Anak Gandi curling their only attempt wide.
QAF FC found themselves 3-1 down in the 40th minute when Khalid Mustapah found Rokiman on the left flank after impressive interplay with Huzairol.
Rokiman's cross would clear QAF FC's entire line of defence to find Mohd Saiful Rizal who diverted the ball home from the far post.
The second half started as if both sides were resigned to the result, with little action to speak of until the hour mark when Adie Arsham Md Salleh misfired Ratano Hj Tuah's corner just a few inches over the bar.
QAF FC picked up their game and MS PDB's goalkeeper was called upon to tip Riwandi Wahit shot over the bar.
Mohd Huzairol had a great chance to give MS PDB a bigger cushion but he scuffed his shot wide from 15 metres.
QAF FC's resurgence was short lived, however, as MS PDB finally made the points safe in the 65th minute.
Rosmini fed Rokiman to the right of the penalty area, and the winger cut the ball back for Rosmini who fired the ball past the hapless goalkeeper.
